OK OK Runners 21K LSD on April 8, 2012

For the second time, I joined the OK OK Runners LSD run last April 8, Easter Sunday. Same venue at the KM Zero in Rizal Park.

I started my morning by running from Santol to KM Zero, then I was joined by Allan Gregor to my next stage run going to Intramuros. Before the start of the OK OK LSD, I already accumulated 11K mileage.

The OK OK LSD was divided in several pace group and we chose to be at the 7mph group. Overly inspired we added an additional of 2K to the original 21K route.

Allan and I originally planned to extend the LSD to Intramuros after the 23K run but due to extreme heat, we abandoned the plan and I settled for 34K total mileage for the day in 4:10H time.

Thanks to OK OK runners family. Til next LSD guys!

Visita Iglesia with PF Peeps on Good Friday, April 6, 2012

Yesterday, Good Friday, we did our own version of Visita Iglesia with my fellow Pinoy Fitness peeps. Our staring point was at Robinsons Galleria at 4 AM. We started our run to the first church at 4:30 AM, where me met the other members of the group. Here's our Visita Iglesia itinerary:

1st Church - Christ the King Parish in Libis, Green Meadows Avenue
2nd Church - Sto. Rosario Church in Pasig, Ortigas Avenue Extension
3rd Church - Immaculate Conception Church (Pasig Simbahan) in Kapasigan, Pasig
4th Church - Sta. Clara de Montefalco Church in Raymundo Avenue, Pasig
5th Church - Our Lady of Light Church in Cainta, Bonifacio Avenue
6th Church - St. John the Baptist Church in Taytay, Rizal Avenue
7th Church - Our Lady of Peace and Good Voyage Church in Antipolo City

3rd Church at Pasig Simbahan
In total, we were nine in the group, Allan, Elvin, Jonard, Roxanne, Joyce, Joy, Christopher, Jun and yours truly.

We had several pit stops including the pandesal breakfast at Joyce place in Pasig which took around 30 minutes plus of our time, and many more stops including buying of drinks and food at sari-sari stores, convenience stores among others.

The weather was humid and hot with some clouds especially when we were at Taytay area going to Tikling Junction, it was so humid that I did not want to stop until we reached our 2nd to last pit stop at Junction Mercury Drug.
Last pit stop before the climb to Antipolo Proper
And at the last pit stop, less than 5K to the Antipolo Church, the lead pack including me talked that we will just see each other at the finish line as the others want to challenged themselves with the elevation. Time check is 10:16 AM.
The LSD lead pack at Antipolo City welcome arc!
Finally, the lead pack arrived at the Antipolo City at my time of 10:59 AM. With the total LSD run time of 6:29 Hours. Whew! It was my longest time on the road with lesser mileage of 27.6kms compared to my full marathon time of 5:30H.

But indeed it was our Visita Iglesia run, visiting seven churches in five towns! A great sacrifice with the heat and hunger :-) Til next year guys and gals!

Hyundai Run for a Cause - FREE Fun Run on April 29, 2012

Hi everyone!

Hyundai will be again making HISTORY for the second time around. Last year they offered the only FREE Fun Run in the country with race singlets and timing chips, with a lot of photographers!

It is good that they scheduled this year's run on a Sunday compared to last year which was on a Saturday. This time I registered for the 10K category with the chosen beneficiary of Environmental Sustainability.

And hola! In just two days time, it seems they already hit their runners quota, but a lot of runners are still asking for the extension of registration. This year the organizers are expecting more than 25,000 runners, higher than the turn-around last year of more than 24,000 runners!

See you on the road guys!

5th 30K LSD Run to UP Diliman on April 1, 2012

This morning, I had my 5th 30K LSD run to UP Diliman. My route this time was from our house in Santol via Araneta Avenue and Quezon Avenue to University Avenue at UP. Please click HERE to view my whole route via dailymile.com

This time I was alone again as my LSD mates are busy or with scheduled commercial run this Sunday. Being solo, I started late with my LSD at almost 6AM, thus my run turned to be a heat training.

I arrived at UPD at around 7:10 AM, felt not so good during my first loop at the Oval that's why I decided to only run 3 loops then I headed back home.

But as usual, there would be no LSD without a remembrance photo. The photo above was taken along University Avenue with the blooming sunflowers at the background.

On my way back home, I had two pit stop to buy for drinks due to the hot weather. Then almost walk the whole stretch of Araneta Avenue up to Santol. Finish time is 3:32 hours.

See you on the road guys!
