Michelle Estuar's FUNd Racing @ ULTRA - Race Day Pics

This morning, November 30, 2011, some 1,000 runners gathered for the Michelle Estuar's FUNd Racing held at ULTRA, Pasig. It was a new route for me running at Ortigas Center and the 2 loops of Meralco Flyover. And the challenge ended with another elevation at the St. Paul Road and another last hike inside the ULTRA compound few meters before the finish line at the oval.

But despite of the route elevations, I managed to set a new PR for 10K, unofficially my finish time is 58 minutes which is my first sub 60 finish! Thanks to my pacermate from ARC (I forgot to get his name - next time at ARC will surely get his name :-)

It was also great to meet a lot of new Pinoy Fitness.com peeps like Goldy, Pissed off Chick, BratinELLA, Kukai, Joy_c, Elvin, JC, Allan and of course for the second time I got to meet and have longer time to chat with Roxanne and the always present Ms_Mars.

QCIM3 on December 04, 2011 - My Race Kit

Yesterday, my wife and I dropped by at Mizuno Bonifacio High Street to register for the Quezon City International Marathon year 3, which will be happening on Sunday, December 04, 2011.

As a PinoyFitness.com community member, I was entitled with Php175.00 discount. Thanks to Mr. PF! I registered for the full marathon event, it will be my first 42K run after several half marathons this year.

Last QCIM2, I ran my first 10K and this year I will be running my first 42K.I do hope for a safe and great run as we will be going to La Mesa Eco Park. Will also be my first time to that place :-)

Michelle Estuar's FUNd Racing @ ULTRA - My Race Bib

Last Thursday, November 24, 2011, I registered for the Michelle Estuar's FUNd Racing at the ARC store before the usual Thursday Fun Run.

The race will be on November 30th, it is a regular holiday in the Philippines so I will be free to join this event. I signed up for 10K run, actually this is just my third official 10K run as I have done more 21K's than shorter distance events.

My first 10K was at the QCIM2 last December 2010 and my second 10K was at the Nike We Run Manila last October 2011. After my first 10K last year, I jumped into 21K (half marathon) last February 2011 at the Condura Skyway Marathon and have done seven official 21K's excluding LSD's and my 32K last November 13 at the Run United 3.

Officially, this 10K run will be my last run prior to my first full marathon on December 4 at the Quezon City International Marathon.

Re-post: Making Things Happen as a PF Community-JeepneED

As a proud PF community member, I would like to share/re-post this article from the PinoyFitness.com.

sarangani-jeep-1

Last August 2011 when Pinoy Fitness launched the first version of the Technical Shirt aimed to support education, we decided to support JeepneED! Now after 3 months I am very proud to show you guys the Jeep that we all together funded!

sarangani-3

The Jeep was for Sarangani and the symbolic key was just recently been turned over (Nov. 14, 2011) to Governor Migs Dominquez by Shaina Tantuico (left) and Erika Pineda (2nd left) at the flag racing ceremory at the Capitol. You can check out the full story at the Official Website of the Province of Sarangani.

jeepneed-pinoyfitness

Now look at how nicely the Pinoy Fitness logo was placed at the side of the Jeep! But more importantly it’s going to be a symbol how each and everyone who supported the tech shirt helped and will continually help to uplift the education of the students in Sarangani.

sarangani-students

This Magic School Bus is equipped with 10 netbooks, 3G hub for internet connectivity, printer and scanner, projector and other basic science materials for a community of five public schools in the province!

This might not be as big as Cleaning the Pasig River or Saving the Dolphins, but it’s a start right!? As a small community we can make a small difference, imagine what we can do as we grow bigger. Hoping for everyone’s continuous support!

Run for the Pasig River - Race Day Pics

Today, November 20, 2011 or 11.20.2011, the Philippines again attempted to break the Guinness World Record of Most Participated Eco-Foot Race at the Run for the Pasig River.

We joined the 5K run, the same as last year's category. The starting point this time was at the Roxas Boulevard corner Pedro Gil Street. Just at the estimate of the 3K crowd as well as the 5K, I believe that this morning's event surpassed the previous world record set last year.

Though the organizers tried to offer a wider route for all participants, the stop-run-walk and zig zag style was still needed for runners like us to get through the crowd of people mostly students who prefer to walk.

All in all, it was a fun activity and knowing that it would go to a noble cause, the feeling was great!

Sharing some of our photos during and after the run, for more pics please click HERE.

Run for the Pasig River - My Race Packet

At the almost last day of registration, we decided to join again at the Run for the Pasig River. Last year, 10.10.10, we joined the 116,000 runners and walkers alike in achieving a Guinness World Record.

And this year, the organizers are again attempting to beat that record at the aim of 150,000 runners. I hope that this time, the roads are wider enough to accommodate everyone.

My Race Bib & Souvenir Necklace
Same as last year, no race singlet for me this time. I will be wearing my Pinoy Fitness.com tech shirt in this race.

Run United Leg 3 - Race Day Pics

This morning, November 13, 2011, the Run United leg 3 of the Runrio 2011 Trilogy was held at the Mall of Asia. The leg 3 boasted several categories from 500m dash for kids, 3K, 5K, 10K, 15K, 21K and the Afroman distance 32K.

It was my first 32K run and with God's help I made it with little problem especially little blisters in my toes. This is also with the advantage of my new and wider running shoes which I bought last October as my advance birthday gift :-)

Unofficially my finish time is 3:40Hours, 10 minutes short of my target finish time. But not too bad for a first timer in the 32K category.

Sharing you now some of the RU3 race day pics, more pics can be viewed in my FB account or click HERE.

Run United Leg 3 Runrio Trilogy 2011-My Race Kit

Last October 24, we registered through online registration (credit card) for the Run United leg 3 of the Runrio Trilogy 2011. This will be our 3rd participation of the 2011 trilogy, meaning we will complete all the three legs.

But we just received our race kits today after several follow up to Runrio Inc. It's good the delivery made it before the race day.

My 32K Bib Number w/ B-tag timing chip at the back

My RU3 Singlet, Bib and Time Card
Well, I am not really happy with the delayed delivery of race kits despite the added delivery and service fee for online registration and also I observed that the quality of the singlet is not that good compared to previous Runrio events.

I just hope that it will be better on raceday and those promises will be fulfilled such as the limited edition t-shirt for those who have completed the 2011 trilogy.

My First Visit at ARC TFR on November 03, 2011

Yesterday, I tried to catch up the Thursday Fun Run at ARC (A Runner's Circle) for the first time but unluckily I arrived almost 6:30PM, the 5.2 KM fun run usually starts at 6PM.

But I still stayed for a few minutes and enjoyed watching the raffle draw and the usual photo ops. I also rested myself having to run in the rain from Rizal Park, it's roughly 3KM more or less to the ARC store at the corner of Quirino Avenue and Roxas Boulevard.

Enjoying the raffle

With Abetski
The rain did not stop until the short program was finished and I just enjoyed myself walking in the rain up to Taft Avenue.

I hope that next Thursday I will be much earlier to catch up the run and the fun!!!

See you on the road guys!

My First Ultra Half Marathon LSD on October 30, 2011

I was planning to have my solo ultra half marathon LSD this weekend when I learned through Facebook the organized 32K LSD of OK OK Runners. With that, I woke up very early this morning to catch up the onsite registration at Kilometer Zero.

And I was one of the early birds, the other participants who have registered online arrived past 4 AM. The orientation and warm-up took place after 4:30 AM,  and the two groups of runners with pacing 7-8mins/km and 9-10mins/km took off the road before 5AM.

Let the pictures took you to my first ultra half marathon LSD...

My big big thanks again to OK OK Runners and to ChiCem Runners! Great time running with you all especially to my pacermates Icar, Abetski, and Sir Ram!

Would love to share more pics, but storage is limited here. To view more pics, please click HERE.

See you on the road again guys!

PS. Photo credits to everyone who took all the posted pictures above ( I cannot name you all). This is my first ever run without taking my digicam. :-)
